Korrin Laker: Studio Owner: Ballet, Tap, Private lessons
Hi everyone my name is Korrin Laker. I am currently a full-time teacher at Maraetai Beach School and owner of The Dance Corner.
Since I was three I spent most of my time in a dance studio. Completing all NZAMD dance exams in jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tap and contemporary. During my 30years as a dancer, I have had endless experiences, participating in workshops, choreographing dances and performing in recitals, events and musical shows.
When I was 14 I had the opportunity to teach dance at my childhood dance studio Stewart Dance Studios where I started my career and passion for teaching dance.  Since then I have never stopped teaching and was able to teach in dance studios around Auckland. I enjoyed teaching so much that I got a bachelor in education and became a primary school teacher where I enjoy teaching dance in the classroom.
When I was 27 I had my first child Daphne and decided to start a dance school where we lived so that she could enjoy the love of dance.  Seven years later and two more children The Dance Corner has turned into a wonderful dance family with 5 amazing teachers.  I am so proud of our amazing dance community here in Maraetai!
They call it Dance I call it life!

Louise Dexter: Jazz
Louise has danced since she was a child and completed all NZAMD and AJA exams to level Advance in Jazz as well as NZAMD exams in Ballet + Tap.  She competed in troupe competitions with her dancing school’s Performing Group for many years. Louise then went on to dance professionally for 10 years with the SKYCITY Cheer Team, Vodafone Warriors Cheer Team and a dance production company for a number of commercial tv, sports and corporate events. Now Louise is enjoying teaching our pre-grade jazz classes for this past year with The Dance Corner.

Charis: Ballet
Caz (Charis) has been dancing since she was 4 and is a long time local here in Maraetai. She has trained in RAD Ballet, ISTD Ballet and Modern Jazz, and NZMA Contemporary. Charis and her husband are also dance photographers who have worked in the photography industry for the past 10 years, you would have seen some of the amazing work they did with our Dance Showcase photos and other photography on our dance school pages. flashphotosnz. Charis's beautiful daughter dances in our pre-grade classes and she is looking forward to working with our ballerinas here at The Dance Corner this year.

Louise Dexter: Intro to Dance Monday, Pre Grade Jazz
Sara is a teacher at The Dance Corner and a year 13 student at Howick College. She has loved to dance from a  very young age and has been devoted to dancing for seven years now. Sara has previously sat exams for grades in NZAMD and is currently doing intermediate in jazz, level four in contemporary and elementary in ballet. After helping warm up students for their classes and play games with them at the end, she has grown to become very passionate about teaching dance and helping students to improve. Sara has experience in helping students prepare for their exams, polishing dances for both productions and competitions and has recently choreographed dances for our annual productions.

Kiā ora I am fortunate to have been dancing with TDC for the last 8 years in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip hop and Musical theatre. Over the years I’ve competed in competitions and sat all my exams with TDC and also joined some great workshops my highlight has always been the annual TDC showcase. I’ve really enjoyed supporting Korrin teaching and am looking forward to supporting students, sharing my passion for dance and for each of them to be the very best they can be.

Amelia: Musical Theatre
Kia ora everyone, my name is Amelia and I have been dancing for 8 years through The Dance Corner training in Jazz, contemporary, hip hop and musical Theater. Over the years I have sat exams, competed, attended conventions and some amazing workshops through TDC. I am fortunate to share my love of dance through teaching and I have a passion to create a fun, positive learning environment for my students. My favourite part about TDC is watching my students thrive on stage, giving it their all. I also enjoy continuing to improve my own dance skills every week with the senior dance classes run by Korrin.

Kayleigh: Ballet and Intro to Dance:
Hello everyone, my name is Kayleigh, and I have had the wonderful opportunity to share my love and passion for dancing with others through The Dance Corner, where I have been trained in jazz, contemporary, and ballet for the past nine years. I love teaching our tiny ballerinas and intro to dance. What I love most is watching the little dancers develop the same love that I have for dance and having the opportunity to watch them mature in their skill every lesson.
